Unique expertise in watchmaking

Innovation can follow two paths, starting from the same point:

  • alignment of innovation paths
  • the development of a concept proposed and formulated by the client
  • the development of a concept proposed by Chronode.

In both cases, Chronode travels through a multi-dimensional space: technical and scientific, cultural, historical, artistic… It’s not simply a matter of understanding a customer’s requirements: you have to enter their world, enter their thoughts, share their dreams.

A brand has its own genius, origin and specificities. Each concept is accompanied by a feasibility study that addresses not only the technical aspects, but also the aesthetic aspects and budgetary constraints.

Study

Analysis, in-depth study of the initial concept, research into technical solutions and tooling, 3D simulations and construction drawings enable us to move from the sketch to a set of structured components ready for production launch. This is the fundamental work of the technical office, the methods department and the project manager.

Logistics

The entire team in charge of data and physical flows works hard to ensure that quality, deadlines and budgets are respected, both for components produced in-house and for purchases from our partner suppliers.

Prototypes

On receipt of the components, the prototypists assemble the first parts with a critical eye on performance, ease of assembly and verification of the initial specifications. A whole battery of tests is then carried out to assess and confirm the product’s reliability over time.

Decoration

All this exceptional know-how makes it possible to vary the appearances, textures and reflections of the metal, bringing emotion, originality and brilliance to the movement.

The aim is to magnify an already perfect movement, eliminating all traces of machining from the bridges to the smallest pinion. Each operation or component requires a different craft technique and set of tools.

Hand bevelling, like machine decoration, requires meticulousness, expert hands and a great deal of patience! Our anglers, trained in-house, master the various decorating techniques to perfection.

Armed with cabrons, chisels, files, polishing stones and polishing wheels, they give components a precious shine, transforming each movement into a one-of-a-kind piece.

SERIES PRODUCTION

Our watchmakers meet the highest standards of pre-assembly, assembly and fitting. Tests and checks are carried out at every stage, according to precise protocols.

When all parameters comply with the test protocol, the movement is considered approved and can be launched in series.

After-sales service

We guarantee after-sales service for products leaving our workshops, both in the form of services and spare parts in stock. This means, of course, that every product, movement and watch variant must be documented. This guarantees complete traceability of technical and logistical data, whether for a series of several thousand parts or a single piece. We train our staff to ensure that the know-how acquired in the course of the customer’s project is retained and maintained for after-sales service.

Project management

Compliance with project specifications.
